In which I get a lucky win and pass the luck on.

It’s been a while since I’ve written about a crane game win. I wish i could say it’s because I’ve abstained from spending on them, but mostly it’s because of switching my focus only to Toreba and then the world, you know, imploding and delaying shipping.

After a singularly craptacular day, I came home to a surprise Toreba package on the front step. It’s not the only thing lucky associated with these two Sumikko Gurashi projector lights. Just look how I won them both with a free ticket!

Fate was like yeah, you have to go through 2020, but here’s one little burst of luck to keep you going.

To tell the truth, I didn’t have a lot of hope for these. While I love crane game plush and figures generally, I don’t think they’re a great place to get mechanical or electronic things (I say that, but then I get tempted by this nagashi soumen set from Toreba every single time). I was ready for this to be a little underwhelming, but I was more than pleasantly surprised.

A double dose of Sumikko cuteness.

I ended up only opening up the one on the left below, since I had the idea right away to give away the other.

But look at the pretty colors! Though it shows five, it adds things like blinking and color transitioning so it feels like much more. The glow is relaxing — just what I needed after that craptacular day.

It’s hard to show the projected light well, but it will illuminate a whole bedroom ceiling, and I figured this would at least give you an idea of how nice it is to have Sumikko and Minikko on your walls.

  5. This is so adorable, nice win! I haven’t played Toreba in ages because I aprubtly stopped winning anything and was like hmm…it was right when they introduced the premium machine thing(? I don’t remember exactly what the changes were) and it made me suspicious. You’ve made me want to play again though (≧◡≦)
