The Get List: Toreba: Sumikko Gurashi Primitive Era Plush XL Neko

In which I don’t have to understand the design to love the design.

Another win from my recent Toreba haul — I had to try for this one since the very premise made me smile. Why did they decide to make Sumikko as cave people? Why Penguin? and Neko in particular? I don’t know for sure, but I’m loving this plush anyway.

Everything about this plush just screams CHONK. It’s not the very softest plush in history, but Neko is pretty well made (the ill-fitting caveman underpants add to the charm) and at almost fifteen inches high, they’re just great to display!

I won Neko on one of my very favorite types of crane game setup. It’s just physics between the item and the claw, as opposed to a whole lot of pulling and pushing or weird predictions about where things will fall.

And Neko’s arrival couldn’t have been more timely, since right after they showed up there was another surprise from Toreba….with a roving gang of dinosaur troublemakers, just the thing for a cavecat to tackle — but for more on that, you’ll have to tune in next time!
