In which two of my favorite Pokemon are won in about a forty-eight hour period, and turn out especially snuggly and adorable.
I’m not sure who my two favorite Pokemon are, but I know my top three are Gengar, Wooper, and Nyaasu (I really don’t like the American dub’s Meowth voice, and for some reason that extends to the otherwise fine name, so excuse my snobbery on that one if you would). So needless to say I was excited to see Gengar and Wooper grouped together in this set of Bandai prize plush!
I won this on by far my favorite type of Toreba machine — at least, it’s one I feel I kind of “get” and am pretty consistent on identifying a winning position for — and I had been eyeing these plush forever, so I got Gengar first with free TP:
And then got Wooper (not for free, though – maybe I spent ten dollars or so?) once the setup looked about the same:
I think these were my fastest Toreba win-to-doorstep prizes, or way up there at least — I requested shipping on September 16 and got these September 30. Not bad! And the plush themselves are great. They’re part of the Hokkori Iyasare line. I’m going to translate that as,…Soft and Comforting, perhaps? And as you can see, they are very, very soft and plushy.
These plush measure about nine inches high, and do a great job of capturing each Pokemon, from Wooper’s tail to Gengar’s fuzz-covered back spikes.
The fuzzy texture seems a little weirder on Wooper, being a Water type and all, than Gengar to me. But he’s just so snuggly I’m not going to think about it a whole lot.
He’s currently in my bed as my full time hugging buddy, along with the constants — a sea slug and Tonkatsu/Ebi Furai no Shippo. Oh, and Mr B is there too…

Plus, who can resist the picture on the tag? I like Wooper and Gengar being friends. And I love these plush.
