In which I’m warmed and comforted by two Kanto region favorites.
You might remember these plush I wrote about a while back — after loving the Gengar and Wooper ones, I wanted more of these soft little guys. These plush take me back to Pokemon Red and Blue and the first season of the anime, so let’s have some Kanto Region nostalgia with two more Hokkori Iyasare (Soft and Comforting) plush!
Above you can see me win Hitokage/Charmander on the usual type of Toreba machine I play. And after he showed up, I think he might be my very favorite of this whole collection. It’s strange because the plush’s texture couldn’t be more different from how a Hitokage would actually feel, but somehow he’s just extra snuggly.

He’s about the same size as the others I wrote about earlier (I measured something like nine inches). And his little feet and tail are just so cute.

Next up is a Pokemon I was surprised to see I hadn’t written about here yet — Purin/Jigglypuff! The win is below. I used two free tickets to get this one; the first knocked it into the perfect position you see below, and the second brought Purin home.
You know, I think Purin might have one of those Pokemon names I like better in English than in Japanese. プリン Purin is just the Japanese name for pudding (more like flan), so the Pokemon name refers to their texture. I’d say Jigglypuff is a nice translation of that idea, and plus I just like the way Jigglypuff sounds.

So soft! So huggable! I love this one too. That’s really all I have to say about these — other than the tag information below — but I’ll keep trying to win plush from this series for sure. I just need to look and see which other ones are out there….
